The Witchery Mod is a massive addition to Minecraft that basically turns you into a witch, wizard, warlock or necromancer, take your pick. You’ll get the ability to deal spells, use voodoo, and even don traditional robes and fly around on brooms. Plus you can also take on the role of a witch hunter and take down all the evil that’s been inflicted on your realm.
There are several books in the game that will help guide you with this mod. In the spirit of witchcraft, these books seem all the more necessary to seal the authenticity of the mod. You have a book on Circle Magic, Herbology, Brews & Infusions, Conjuration, and Distilling for potions. They are packed full of useful information so keep them handy and study hard.
A lot of the spells work best in a multiplayer environment, specifically the spells and voodoo. You can create several different Poppets to inflict damage on an enemy or even protect yourself. There are poppets to protect against falls, drowning and fire as well as death altogether. The core to this feature is taking a blood sample of either yourself (from your bed) or the enemy directly. Then apply that to the desired poppet and it’ll now be bound to the recipient. Poppets are temporary though so there are a limited number of uses you can get out of a single blood sample. Might be good to stock up on samples if you can.
You can participate in circle magic and do a ton of neat things to your enemies or to protect yourself. One example is the Rite of Sanctity. Create this circle with an altar and some relics. Throw down a single redstone dust and a feather. Activate the circle and now no mobs can enter it. It also lasts indefinitely until you deactivate it.
Brewing is the staple of classic witchcraft. Everyone knows a witch has a kettle for brewing and now you do too. Your handy brewing book will be of great use here and you can brew many different potions that can grow random trees, cause temporary darkness, or even spawn owl minions to attack your enemies.
This mod is enormous and full of many new features to explore. If you have a passion for spells, conjuration, and all around dark magic then give this mod a shot.
