The Advanced Finders mod gives you three new compasses to help you find metals, gems, or minerals. And all you need to do is craft it and follow the needle.
The needle will change color depending on what ore it finds. That makes it easier to differentiate where it’s directing you and if it’s to something you’re interested in. It even shows multiple needles if there are multiple sources close by.
Gems are usually rarer so it may take some snooping to get in range, but it works just the same as the other finders and the needle will pop up when something is close.
And if it’s metals you need then simply pull up the metal finder and dig away!

Does the compass ever break?
I regular compass never break. Makes sense that these will not break either. They are not used in the same manner is an axe or a hoe — they won’t get used up or warn out.
how do i install forgeendertech? it says i need it for the mod to work
Right above the download button, it says “This mod requires an additional API found here.” Click on the word here then, it will redirect you to a download page where you download the ForgeEndertech.jar (the jar that you were looking for) I hope that solved your problem!
There appears to be some form of glass as part of each recipe — but I don’t see where it specifies exact what kind of glass. I’ve looked at a lot of pictures of different types of glass and can’t figure out what is required for each recipe. Could someone please provide the names of each type of glass that’s required for each finder? Thank you.
I figured one out. The metal finder uses a yellow tinted glass pane.
It looks like the mineral finder uses a clear glass pane, but that doesn’t work.
No idea what the gem finder might require.
Gem Finder needs a light grey glass panel, and after a mining trip that netted 137 diamonds I can attest to it’s usefulness 🙂
