Pandoras Creatures adds a bunch of new mobs to your world and some interesting items that come along with them. Undersea life gets a couple of new friends with seahorses and crabs. The seahorses come in a variety of colors and add a bit of majesty to what lies beneath the waves. Each mob in this game also has some very detailed animations that give an extra bit of flare and realism within the relatively simplistic atmosphere that is Minecraft. The seahorses will dance around and “bounce” on the sea floor and of course the crabs will show you an appropriate scuttle. The seahorses can also vary in size as well as color so there are 55 different varieties swimming around the oceans and seas!
Both of these sea creatures can be scooped up in buckets of water just like you can with fish making it very easy to transport or re-home them. All you need is to right click them with any empty bucket, except of course filled with water, and you can drop them back into any other water source or in home aquariums.
This mod also adds a very large buffalo-type mob that could also be a cross with a bull called the Bufflon. They roam snowy fields and plains and are incredibly helpful companions.
You can also tame them with an herb bundle you can craft by combining three herbs and ride them around. But that isn’t the only benefit to these mighty creatures. If you happen to find or trade for Bufflon saddles you can add extra seating for friends or even add storage capabilities. A single saddle is needed for only one rider. Player seats can be added and will allow for two additional riders. And there are two more options with storage capabilities if you add the small storage you’ll gain an extra seat as well as extra inventory space and the large saddle grants the maximum amount of storage these beasts can tow. They are a very versatile and helpful addition to your Minecraft needs especially if you play on a multiplayer server.
And the Arachnon is a very strong, spider-like creature. They are similar in style and build if you combined a golem with a spider. They only spawn at night in mountain and plains biomes and are very strong so proceed with caution if you choose to attack or if you manage to anger one. If you do manage to kill one then you can craft a powerful Arachnon Hammer.
The Arachnon hammer has the ability to break a 3×3 block of stone so it becomes a crucial piece of mining equipment. Now you’ll be able to clear out much bigger areas with a single blow but it does come at the risk of defeating several Arachnons.
The Nether also gets two new mobs to watch out for. The hellhound is an all skeleton, dog creature that’s impervious to fire and they fight in packs. Their numbers and use of group fighting are their greatest strength since they aren’t very difficult to defeat alone. They also have a chance of spawning as a more powerful wither hellhound and those are much stronger, bigger and obviously harder to defeat if you already have a pack on your heels.
And the Acidic Archvine is a dubious hanging plant in the Nether that will grab anyone walking beneath its tongue and ultimately try to digest them. They can spawn in jungles as well as the Nether so neither area is safe from their sticky grasp. However, you can counter these things by wearing a plant hat to avoid getting scooped up!
