The Better Sugar Cane Mod aims to give more uses to sugar cane. You can make handles for stronger tools and weapons as well as several compressions of sugar cane (and sugar) for extra storage.
You can continually compress sugar cane up to 4x blocks. This not only gives you 5 new blocks to play with but the amount of sugar you can store in one slot is immense. You may not need this much sugar without this mod but with it you’ll find it incredibly useful. You’ll want to craft all your tools and weapons with it.
Mining is more efficient than ever now. Even using gold picks will vastly increase your productivity. Tools last longer and blocks break much quicker than they used to. You’ll never want to go back to traditional tools with how quick these are.
The reason these tools are more efficient is because you’re using blocks instead of ingots. So instead of 3 gold, iron or diamond ingots, you’ll use 3 blocks. This makes tools much more expensive to craft but the durability and use outweighs that cost. You’ll spend less time crafting and hoarding tools in your inventory and more time on actually using those tools.
The type of tool you make will determine its strengths. Iron tools deal much more damage now; so much so that just an iron sugar cane shovel now does as much damage as a standard iron sword. Gold tools are now much more durable. Gold has more of use now so you can take your stocks out of storage finally. Plus gold tools will have increased enchantability so you’ll have higher and better enchants with gold tools. And diamond tools have a significantly increased mining speed. If you were to enchant a diamond sugar cane pickaxe with efficiency IV, you’d have practically creative mode speeds on destroying stone.
This is a mod that essentially enchants all your tools without needing an enchantment on them. If you don’t want to bother with enchanting, then this mod will be great to vastly improve your yield and abilities from tools. And if you are into enchanting then this mod only furthers the greatness you can achieve by further increasing your tools’ stats.

The upgraded Iron Sword seems to do more damage than the upgraded Diamond Sword ( According to the pictures shown). Why is that? ( An answer would be much appreciated )
the iron has knockback but the diamond has unbreaking and fire aspect instead(the damage caused by the fire aspect is not shown in the attack damage label).
the last 2 hunger bars has a yellow outline. why?
The last most compact requires 59,049 sugar cane to make, eseentially making it a creative-only block.
